FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FIVE12 INTRODUCES NUMEROLOGY LEVEL 1 FOR MAC OS X
Albuquerque, NM - Wednesday, January 15, 2003 - Five12
Inc. (www.five12.com) announced today a revolutionary new MIDI
sequencing product for Mac OS X. Numerology Level 1 is a modular
sequencing environment designed for live improvisation by performing
musicians.
Numerology provides the sequencing musician a level of interactivity
and speed of use normally only seen by users of knob-laden analog
synthesizers. Going far beyond the step sequencing capabilities seen
elsewhere, Numerology provides the the user with an organized
workspace where they can quickly create and connect together a variety
of highly functional sequencing and MIDI event generating modules. As
a fully modular environment, Numerology allows the user to construct
sequencing instruments that fit their own unique requirements. In
addition, the Numerology user interface is specifically designed to be
fast and accurate to use --critical when working in an improvisational
context.
Numerology's sequencing modules follow a model similar to that used by
analog sequencers: the user creates sequences of control values that
can be routed to other modules to control generation of notes or MIDI
CC and Pitch Bend messages. These sequencers provide a number of
important features that cannot be found in any other software product,
including skip steps, independent control over sequence length, start
and end points, dedicated gate sequencing, and a new concept for step
sequencing: hard sync.
For generating MIDI events, Numerology modules provide a number of
features:
- MIDI Note, CC and Pitch Bend generation.
- Multiple modulation inputs for pitch, gate and velocity.
- Parallel note generation with pitch offset.
- Legato mode note generation.
- Pitch quantisation into eight scalar modes.
- Sequenced MIDI CC and Pitch Bend generation, with two modulation sources.
- Automated real-time generation of linear pitch bends.
To complement these modules, Numerology provides a number of features
that enable a musician to remain organized and effective in a modular
environment:
- Module Groups for organising modules by musical part.
- A virtual MIDI mixer for adjusting levels, solo and mute.
- 64 presets for each group; presets store all module parameters.
- A tracks sequencer for creating preset chains.
- A group/module browser for quick navigation.
A free preview of Numerology will be available at the end of January
2003. Numerology will ship in February 2003 as an internet download
for USD $50. Five12 is currently recruiting beta testers. Application
