Hi Jim,

nice to see Numerology progressing to level 3! :-)
Thank you especially for OSC learn, which actually made me use OSC for the first time. I use touchOSC on iPad and iPhone.
Updating the values worked pretty well in both directions, except for the 'multitoggles' in touchOSC, which didn't reflect state changes I made to the buttons in Numerology. But this could be a bug in touchOSC, I don't know...

My feature request: I would like to switch presets with OSC in Numerology. Please implement OSC learn in the preset detail window as well.

"Presets" bring me to another point: I somehow miss "store/overwrite", "compare" and "revert" functions for handling the preset. At least a revert function for returning a preset to its original state after fiddling with it would be nice. Or is that somewhere and I missed it?

The Numerology way of handling presets with "snap" and "dup" is cool in its own way, but at least I tend to save more presets with it than I actually would, because I cannot save over existing preset. This is a little confusing when I want to assign MIDI to my presets in order to recall them. There are so many...
I would prefer a different handling of this alltogether: preset *slots*, that can be assigned to MIDI (or a key or OSC...). And presets that can be moved, copied and swapped between those slots. Much like with the content of the cells in NI Battery.
This way, I could build a nice layout in touchOSC with buttons for, say, my first 16 preset slots of a stack. In Numerology, I could then just move the presets I want from other slots to these slots to assign them to my buttons and to trigger them via touchOSC. That would be great...

Btw, are those scene buttons in the mixer still on your list? :-)

Thanks for Numerology and keep up the good work!
Uwe

I haven't tried that control yet, I'll make a note to check it.

Ok, will look into it.

The code is still there, but there is no UI for it yet. I haven't gotten many requests, so it hasn't been pushed up the todo list...

I will probably change the way MIDI controls are assigned to presets to used a 'fixed allocation' approach: i.e. you specify the first note number or prog change number, and the presets are automatically assigned from there...

Yes...

Thanks for Numerology and keep up the good work!

Groovy, thanks again -- great to hear from you!

Cheers,
Jim

Cool to see this still on the radar - this is similar to stuff I requested a while back. Basically once you start using Touch OSC, it becomes apparent what basic functions can make an OSC/Midi controller into a perfect companion for Numerology.

Basically, I would like to map enough controls to have a set of sequencer modules controllable via Touch OSC, so that we can have remote work flows like this:

- Set each sequencer's division and step length

- Control the main transport and tempo (as Jim pointed out, you can actually do this from the master clock)

- Make a sequence - including the Matrix & Polynote ;-)

- Change presets

- Copy the sequence to a different preset (as opposed to snap or dupe)

- Clear a preset (back to defaults)

I think that Jim also mentioned that he is working on setting distinct values and increments for Midi/OSC learn, which would be very helpful for assigning a button to (for instance) sequencer to limit it to an 8 step range.

I know that Numerology does a lot more than this, and that in some ways the LaunchPad does more, but I think that this would get us to a base feature set that would be comparable to many hardware sequencers, and adding more functions further out in the future would just be (mushroom) gravy! :-D

Oh, and an easier way to make visual step position feedback!
