I discovered that the AU version of Numerology Pro Plogue bidule shows the words: UNREGISTRED, so I tried to enter the serial number of "Num3 Pro, but I get as a response to enter a correct serial number.
Did not happen with the beta 23

That's what I get for not following my release instructions in the correct order. I fixed the pro installer, try it again.

Best,
Jim

In both Bidule and AudioMulch you have to connect the audio outputs or Numerology will not get any render calls. In AudioMulch there is also some event issue going on: Mouse clicks don't register. This will go away if you double-click on the prefs button and then close the dialog. Also, in both hosts, the window resize buttons don't work properly.

Best,
Jim

I'm afraid I'm getting the same issue previously mentioned. I bought an upgrade earlier today, and downloaded the latest version, 3.0 Pro Build 25, but when I try to register the AudioUnit in Live 8, I'm asked for my old serial number, then my v.3 Pro serial, but am told I need to enter a serial for Numerology 3 SE, and that my serials are not a 'valid pair'.

My serials work fine for the standalone version of the application.

Check to make sure you have the Pro version of the AU installed -- it will say "Numerology Pro" at the top. If that is the case and you're still seeing issues, then email me for further instructions. (jim at five12 dot com)

Hi Jim,

thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
It seems the AU was the SE version. I tried deleting the plugin from
/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components
and reinstalling from the latest installer, and now it seems to work fine- I get the Pro version of the plugin, and it doesn't ask me for registration, so all appears to be well.

Cheers,

I'd like to say a big thank you to you, jim! :) I've upgraded my numerology to n3 pro immediately. I like the numerology au very much, but is there a way to better integration in logic? the cable thing in the environment is a little bit aggravating. why don't you progam a mfx-au for multiple midi out ports?

The cable thing in Logic is aggravating, but that is just the way Logic works: by default *all* MIDI input is summed and sent to the "Sequencer Input" object. Adding more MIDI outputs wouldn't solve the issue -- But, BTW, you can send multiple MIDI streams from the AU, just use the MIDI Out module.

Recommended Action: Go to bugreport.apple.com and file a bug that Logic does not support Audio Unit MIDI output callbacks. You should be able to use your iTunes login there if you have one. I reported this bug last year and it was quickly marked as a duplicate, so they are aware of it. However, the more folks who complain, the more likely they will fix it and the whole AU setup thing would get much easier. Remember: "The squeaky wheel gets the oil".

Ditto for Ableton Live and Digital Performer....

Numerology is a great program but when using the Numerology AU plugin (pro build 25) in Ableton Live I have a couple of issues:
1. Live's built-in Track Delay has no effect on track latency.
2. MIDI learn doesn't seem to work.
Have these features been implemented yet?

which midi out did you mean? did you mean stack out? only numerology out 1 is available in logic.

Each instance of the Numerology AU will create one virtual output:
NumerologyAU Out 1, NumerologyAU Out 2, etc...

The StackOutput module is hard-wired to output to that port. There is also an alternate output so you can directly address physical MIDI ports as well.

Numerology is a great program but when using the Numerology AU plugin (pro build 25) in Ableton Live I have a couple of issues:
1. Live's built-in Track Delay has no effect on track latency.

Be sure to use the Track Delay on the target track, i.e. were you're sending the MIDI.

2. MIDI learn doesn't seem to work.

That's a bug. CC learn for the AU will be enabled in the next build.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

Thanks for the reply.
The problem I was having with track delay having no effect in Ableton Live was that I was using negative values.
When I went back and set the track delay to +15.50 and buffer size to 128 samples I was able to get much lower MIDI latency.

Thanks again.

Awesome, thanks very much!

Also, I have found a slightly easier way to do this:
