A common problem in live performance of virtual synths is changing programs/patches without a delay or even worse yet - a glitch.

Please note these are not numerology 'presets' but the presets of the synth itself.

Can anyone suggest a method of working in numerology to change presets during a performance? I'd like to change sounds on the same AU smoothly and quickly without any perceptible sound (or lack of). Would it be possible to set up pairs of AUs and then switch between them after a preset has already been changed?

I'm thinking about it, will get back to you later today...

How about loading multiple instances with the corresponding presets and change the connections with the Num-presets?
I would not turn off the AU as the voice might still sound (release, VI internal delay or something), normally VIs that are not played should save CPU as I am not totally mistaken.

hope that helps

After a bit of experimentation I was able to switch between AUs in the same stack by using the midi switch and the param mod. I put the param mod in another stack to control the midi switch in the stack which held the AUs. Works quite well.

This is exciting stuff!

This is great, I was having similar thoughts so it's great this discussion is already happening.

I am really excited about the description of 'Stack Presets' in the manual, and how they relate to workflow.

Many times I've wished it was easier/more automated to take all the different little 'versions' I've made of a certain riff or sequence (each version potentially having different synth parameter settings) and arrange them seamlessly together.

So any work people do in this area is much appreciated!
