Yup I'm a U-he user, and now have ACE, UHBIK, and Filterscape. Diva is on trial. It seems very easy to work with, high quality interface and tools. I'm all for it, if the money is free. Now when I just work out the bills that need to be paid. whew.

That trial lasted like 3 minutes. :D It's so freaking fat, even ACE will not be used very much here anymore. And neither will my Juno. :p

I'm sure Urs' will be glad for your support.. I'm going to have to upgrade my system before any buying a super synths. It's two nerveracking to see my CPU in the Red, all the time.

But for sound quality Diva is hard to beat.. Although I like my Modelling Collection and Chromphone just fine for the next few months while I build up my Money for Mac Mini . 1,2,3,4, see my bucks go out the door!

I caved on Diva, even though I'll only be able to use one instance with 4-6 voices in Great or Devine modus, I couldn't pass up the 60 $ rebate until the 15 of Jan. So it's an awesome synth, something of a cameleon too.

Diva rules!

I'm sure having fun with Diva!

I've never really got down to really playing the synth like a solo instrument with the pedals mod wheel pitch aftertouch in mono legato mode with stacked voices. Distortion pedals reverb realtime control of it all. It's totally engrossing. Fun to work like this. It's all been etched on my aural nerve in the past. Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jean Luc Ponty. These lines incessant searching hungry for exploring the lyric, the explosive outburst. the trill pained and endless ending in a SCREECH..

Diva got me going on this. Why did I wait! The mono lead rules..

You missed Jan Hammer there for the mod wheel thing. :D

Ha! I was just looking up Jan Hammer today, he really made a splash. Fusion jazz. It all sound very frenetic to my ears today. But back in the day it was a revelation!

I thing I'm more into finding my own voice, but using the expressive techniques he explored in a more open way. Classically inspired but also the Raga of indian where although it gets dense and energetic usually has these wonderfully long build ups.

Diva sounds soo good that I'm really not getting putting anything else on the program while we get hit by a cold snap in Denmark.

Hehe, talking about Indian ragas: have you heard Charanjit Singh (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT64B6vs9Mc)'s stuff yet? (also read up here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/may/10/charanjit-singh-acid-house-ten-ragas))

Btw, what distortion do you like to use with synths? Don't you find stomp boxes too noisy (do you use a noise gate maybe)?

That snap of cold is sure hitting the Netherlands too. :(

@Sjoerd, I'll check the Raga, I think Indian music was one kind of music where I actually learned how to stop the mind wandering while at a concert. It's like they have these lines that unfold on an almost global scale.

As far as distortion is concerned. I've had the Ensoniz DP4 for many years and it here I got a taste for using distortion on everyting else than guitars.

Right now I use my Uhbik Runciter and a pedal to fade in and out of the mix. I also use the UHBIK F, and UHBIK P, UHBIK S.

I tried th Stillwell Distortion Big Mojo or something. That's a cool plug for distortion. Otherwise Im pretty ignorant of whats out there.

I checked out the link. Saw the video and listened to some of the 10 Raga's to a Disco Beat.

Fun stuff. Once you hear it's very easy to begin jamming in the style.

The Stillwell Plug I tried quite a while back is called "Big Buss Mojo". It has an interesting interface and is extremely crunchy I haven't used it much but it seemed like a very solid offering in the wall of sound distortion category.

I had forgotten that I also have Guitar Rig that I got with a maschine update with a free Komplete Elements. It's a pretty fullfeatured monster distortion for my uses at least. It's just of matter of finding a distortion type that works well with the Diva. Something that maintains the core qualities of the Sound source. For now I'm just going parallel with the Diva outputs and using a pedal to fade up the distortion channel. I have to work on balancing levels.

Try the Fender Tweed amp emulation, or any of the presets that are mostly clean with just a bit o crunch -- and be sure to play with different input levels to the amp -- there will be a sweet spot...

I'm currently finishing my first track with Diva (as well as my first proper one using Numerology), with 6 copies of Diva or so : absolutely amazing synth. You can get some incredibly expressive sounds using N3's CV modulations with her. And she looooooooooves Valhalla Room and UberMod :)
My fav synth, definitely.

A youser on uhe's forum on KVR asked a question yesterday. It's sort of but not really related to Diva.

It's about being able to control pitchbend in a very specific way.

I set about trying to setup series of modules in numerology to achieve this wish which was: pitch bend only the first note of two or more consecutive tones played from a keyboard.

I was sure I could get this to work pretty quickly in Numerology but am missing the ability to modulate the note filter.

For now I've made a quite workable solution for duophonic playing. not duophonic mode!

Two instances of Diva. one with pitchbend on Legato mode last note, the other instance in Legato mode Highest note, pitch bend off.

Now when I play a high note followed by lower notes I can pitch bend the low tones, while the high note soars on above clean and pure.

I also routed two pedals to volume outputs volume and pan modules fed by the the TWO DIVAS, so when I want to do solos with one voice I can easily do that as well. This also gives fun with fading in a pitch bend note while it's travelling back into tune..

Funny Bendy Wendy Diva!

Wade, did you test the new multi-core support with N3 stand alone ?

Hi nil

Sorry for the late reply. I have tried using Diva with Numerology with the multicore update, but as yet I can't see how it could work if Numerology as yet is not a multi core application. I'll look into it and report back!
