View Full Version : Send midi snapshot for learned CCs on open and load

I have a BCR-2000, and noticed that it does not get visual feedback
from N2.

It really doesn't need to animate or anything, just get a snapshot of
current settings when loading a preset or opening a document.

This would be REALLY great, as it would provide a missing link to
visual feedback on hardware, make me stop lusting after hardware
sequencers, and stop trying to make Live do what I want with thousands of
devices and midi mappings!

Thanks!

:)

ohhh, another thing would be sending 'blips' (short midi or note info assigned to some buttons on a BCR or Korg Pad Kontrol, for instance) out for the steps, so you can see which step you're on.

Not sure how to do this...

Hope Jim owns a BCR? If not, we should really pitch in... :)

i've a BCR 2000 too and yes send/receive snapshot and have visual feeling on the bcr can be really useful,:)
Imho he BC layout is perfect to control the Num's sequencers.

I have a Remote25 SL. And yes, 'mirroring' of CC mappings will be nice.... ;)

Cheers,
Jim

Are we expecting this soon, or was it part of the 2.1 update & I just missed it?

Still on my list -- keep pinging me on it, and it *will* get done! :)

Maybe "there's an app for that"... ;)

Yes, I know, keep it up. I've been a bit bad lately and avoided what I should be doing (this sort of stuff), and doing something... hmmm... different....

Cheers,
Jim

Hello,

possible we could get module that works similar the loadbang in MAX:
It sends out a Gate and CVs when the Project is finish with loading to get the possibility for a exact startstate for a sequence.
Think of sending programchanges, controllers like volume or pan or FXsends, returns...... before the actual sequence starts.

best

That sounds similar to what this thread is about, except I was asking for:

1. All of the midi assignments to to send a snapshot when a preset is loaded

2. Being able to send a note 'blip' to visualize sequencer motion

The implications for me would be being able to use my BCR 2000 to control an 8-step sequencer, load presets and have them show correct values on the b2k knobs, and show the sequencer progress on the bcr2k (probably by having one of the rows of buttons blinking one after another left to right).

Wish granted upon the 2.2 release, my BCR2k is rockin' it now, thanks Jim!

One more very simple request that I will post to the forum though!

Just got a nocturn (and a launchpad), and wanted to try it out with mononote. The problem, of course, was that the encoders didn't update when i changed presets. Then i discovered the "reflect learned midi cc's" option. This works great, except if you have higher resolution on the encoder than the parameter you're controlling (example: a value of 12 is sent from the controller, but the parameter can only have 10 or 15, so 10 is sent back to the controller). It's not a big deal, but i'd like to have the option to just send the CC's on preset change. The reason i want to send at a higher resolution is to make the encoder a little slower.

I'll make a note to look into it. There are some other changes for MIDI CC Reflection on my list as well.

Cheers,
Jim
