View Full Version : The Chord Sequencer is alive...
I've been alternating my time recently between 2.0.1 and 2.1 work, and have just gotten the ChordSeq working. It is still very much a prototype, but it makes notes, and does most of the things the other NoteSequencers already do. The base note can be set and you can load in a couple of simple chord patterns (eventually there will be an 'extensive' and 'expandable' chord library) Working next on inversion control. It will be out with the first 2.1 beta, sometime later this month.
Cheers,
Jim
Woohaa ! It's awesome ! Great step ahead for this module ...
Congratulations Jim !

that looks interesting - but you keep the idea that people can add notes to the chord? (cannot recognise this functionality from the screenshot ...)

hello,
what about adding a MonoNote aside of the ChordSeq?

that looks great! Any hints to what else you got cookin for 2.1?

You'll be able to create custom chords, and it will come with a large library of standard chord options. The focus is very much on the progression, and the building of that progression, rather than on the individual notes.

Jim

This looks really cool.
What if you are not too familiar with what chords fit in which scales etc? Does this machine cater to people like me with very little music theory knowledge?

No, it force us to learn music theory. it´s the hard way but it´s the right way.
chord sequencer looks impressive. definetly, i´m going to buy this software.

Well, I wouldn't say that it forces one to learn chord theory, as much as it will hopefully make it much, much easier -- as you'll be able to focus on picking chords based on a few simple parameters, without having to figgure out all the notes manually. When I put out the first 2.1 beta, I'll post a couple pages from Walter Piston's _Harmony_ which details the most common rules for chord progressions.

i´d love that! can´t wait for the bata. thanks for all your effort.

This is fantastic. Exactly what I was hoping for when I first saw you discuss the potential feature.
