Here are some notes on upcoming releases. Please keep in mind that while I'm reasonably confident about everything that is mentioned here, anything and everything is subject to change.
- 2.0.1 will be out within a week or two, and is focused on bug fixes.
- 2.1 is currently planned for mid-late March and will have several new features, including: the Chord Sequencer, custom scales, sequence step recording, a transport loop, extra I/O modules for audio & MIDI, and a few other items.
- 1.4.5 will be a new version of the 1.4 code branch that can export Numerology 1.4 files in the 2.0 format. This is something that has gotten pushed back a couple times, but as I have many files of my own to migrate forward, this does remain as an important task.
- A "Pro" version is planned for release later this year. It will be an optional, paid upgrade and will include many advanced features, a few of which you will find mention of around the forum, such as OSC support, and "extra stuff" for sampling and looping. The general idea behind the pro version is that it lets me keep the entry level of price for Numerology low, while being able to accommodate a number of advanced features that have been requested.
Obviously, there are many other features that are in the pipe that I have not mentioned above, either because I don't know yet which release they will be assigned to, or I am not ready to announce them. For instance, I have various ideas for improved MIDI remote control, and there may be some updates in that area for 2.1, but it is just as likely that they will come in a 2.2 or 2.3 release. I regularly review what has been posted in the Feature Requests discussions, and features that are 'voted for' more often definitely get bumped a bit in the work queue, so if there's something you're looking for, don't hesitate to make it known.
Also, there are several new video tutorials that I'll be working on later this month. I should have one up by next weekend, with more to come after that....
Cheers,
Jim
