View Full Version : new SendOut module
Hello,
with the upcomming Loop Bar there should be a new module that sends out events at a given beat / bar / time.
Just with the possibility to select a timepoint, lets say 67 : 3 when reaching this point the module sends out a CV value, a gate and a trigger.
With two sliders for CV value and the lenght of the gate.
Outputs are CV out, Gate out and Trigger out.
With this it should be possible to create special events in the timing of your sequences.
Examples:
Setting Keyswitches at the beginning of your sequence for samplers.
Sending out transpositions at given times.
Sending out programchanges at given times.
Start sequencers at given times for single runs, no more need to look for other possibilies to mute your running seqs as some kind of arrangement.
Shifting the steps of seqs at given times.
and so on.....

I'll think about that one. In the meanwhile, you can simulate most of that with a GateSeq, of course...
Cheers,
Jim
Hello,
that works well when our composition is not so long, 10 minutes or so.
The works I am doing normally are between 60 to 75 minutes and this is a little difficult to get with the GateSeqs.
Thats also a point because I was asking about a bigger CV switch to handle more 128 step GateSeqs.

Why don't you use the timeline for this, jue? Just curious. It seems to be a valid tool. Although I would like to see a module like this, sending out a set of values, when it receive a chosen value. (be it measure in time or a CV).
Hello,
with the timeline everything is static only the time changes.
With a modul like this you can change what should been send out at this given timepoint. Meaning generating the values along with your sequences and send them then out at this fixed time. In the timeline you have presets to set up and send them out, this means you have to know which values you want, but I do not know them in advance because I generate them over time.
It should work some how similar to the hardsync for me.

What is the longest cycle time (in beats) that you would need? I'm thinking that perhaps you might be able to do it with a very slow-running, long GateSeq triggering another sequencer. If you use the "percent" rate mode, you can set a seq to run as slowly as one step every 90 beats (set the percentage to 9000). You could also set the trigger seq to run off a secondary clock set for a very low tempo....

hello,
have to check this!
Thank you!

Hello,
the best solution for my problem could be the new step on trigger mode for the GateSeqs. Then I could use the GateSeqs as a kind of divider and could reach any time point that I like.

You could try this (http://www.lutlei.net/numertools/ll_qlist.zip) plugin I have for sending OSC-messages at specific times. I modified it a bit for making a cv and a gate, via audio, cause I like this idea of yours. Here's a screenshot: (http://www.lutlei.net/numertools/ll_qlist.jpg). Sorry for spamming, if you don't find this appropriate.
Hello,
also this plugin does not work for me, sorry!
As your other plugs they only show a blank module without any edit button.
I checked the deavl plug in your example and they work so there must be something that I do not have on my mac or there could be a spezial folder structure that I do not have.
BTW: How do you make this VST plugs? Because in the moment I am looking for it in MAX but could not find it.

I'm sorry to hear it's not working. I've tried some of the plugs in Numerology, on 3 different macs. All intel. I've built a [URL="http://www.lutlei.net/numertools/ll_Qlist.vst.zip"]new one[/URL you can try. Guess the example won't work, but you could easily delete the dummy module that will show up there, and reconnect this new one from AudioUnint FX-menu. (remember to run the AudioUnit Scan after installing this one)
Anyway, If you got Max, you turn your patches into VSTs by choosing "Build collective/application/plug in...", in the file menu. That's in Max 4.6. There's a pretty straightforward tutorial, and some example patches in the pluggo application folder.
Hello,
Now i got it working, sorry it was not clear for me that I have to tdo a manual audiounitscan. I never needed this before.
The other thing I see now is that I was to fast with my MAX5 it does not support vstplugins in the moment, so I have to go back to 4.63 if I deside to make VSTs.
Do you have any MIDI plugins working as VSTs/AUs with MIDI values sending to them and after mangle sending back the result in sync?
As an example something like changing the MIDI channel.
It would be a great help to have it in as MAX patch and as in VST format to learn from.
Because thats my goal to have all my MAX/MIDI manglers as AU plugin in Numerology.

Cool you got it working!
It's not possible to send midi from a Audio Units. (in fact, it is possible, but not for mere mortals like me building simple pluggos. You need to know how to code, either an AU or maybe it could be done by making an external for Pluggo. There are some very experienced maxers on this forum, who'll know a lot more about this than me.)
The VSTs can do this, however, but I haven't implemented midi out in my plugs. It should be simple. My plugs sends out midi information as audio, meaning only two values at the same time, e.g. pitch&velocity.
You can have the source patches for all my plugs, if you want. I didn't include them because they're so messy;) They are just prototypes, made for testing different concepts and ideas.
BTW: Is this cue-list plugin doing you any good? You can Param-mod the cue-points or the value they send out. I guess it should have the loopmode working before it gets really useful.
