Courtesy of Applecare, and a 'silent' battery recall on macbook batteries, I just had two macbook pro batteries replaced for free. You can find out more about this recall here:

Also, even if your batteries are fine, there is this very handy page on optimizing battery life:

and on calibrating new batteries:

I'm usually pretty on top of these things, so I'm surprised that I missed all this. Anyway, I'm very happy with the new batteries. If you have a 1-3 year old MacBook or MacBook Pro, you should look into this...
