Is there a plugin delay compensation feature in N2? I'm running 2.0.1 on 10.4.11, Mac Pro Intel dual CPU 2.66, and find that I cannot host nearly as many plugins/AU's as I can in Logic 7.2 without dropping frames and hearing pops.

Certain plugins that are known to cause higher latency will trigger this. For instance, the "master reverb" in Ozone 4. In one test, activating other modules within Ozone 4 did not cause the pops, but as soon as the reverb feature was activated, the issue arose. Note that this is with the buffer set to 1024.

The good news is that this does not seem to be processor related - while N2 is running, Activity Monitor shows CPU evenly distributed across cores.

Due to Logic 7's shortcomings in the multi-channel recording area, I've taken to hosting all of the AU's there and bouncing the audio directly. It would be helpful then to be able to host more AU instruments and effects in N2.

There's no automatic plugin delay compensation yet, it's on the list for the pro version. As for the CPU issues, I'm looking into that. I ran into a case last week were I was getting audio clicks without any apparent CPU issues. Also, keep in mind that N2 only has one render thread, so it definitely will not be able to host as many AU's as Logic can on a multi-core machine. Running multiple render threads is tricky business, so I've held it off for a while.

Best,
