vBulletin, the five12.net forum software, has a 4 character lower limit on words that it indexes. So if you search for anything smaller than that, say "osc" or "pro" (probably the two most interesting searches on this site), you'll get no results. However, there happens to be a workaround for 3 character terms: surround the search term with *'s, as in "*osc*".
