The big news here is proper support for Volta and Silent Way, but there are also various bug fixes.

Numerology 2.2b1 Release Notes:
Support for MOTU Volta and Expert Sleepers Silent Way VC & DC:
These plugins are now supported through the use of customized AU hosting modules with some special properties:
- All Audio I/O for these plugins is assigned directly on the module UI, which makes them much easier to setup (and harder to accidentally feed to your speakers).
- Multiple audio output ports/menus are generated as appropriate for each plugin.
- The modules for these plugins have several CV inputs, whose number vary by plugin. For Volta, there is one for each of the 24 "Ramp" AU parameters. For the two Expert Sleepers plugins, appropriate AU params are mapped for each plugin, such as pitch and gate override for the Silent Way Voice Controller. These CV ports allow you to directly feed the output of any CV source in Numerology through the plugins to the audio output and then the analog CV input of your modular.
Each of the plugins has its own expected value ranges for its "CV" inputs, as listed below. In many cases, you may need to scale or offset or tweak your CV values before feeding them into these modules.
- Volta : All the Ramp parameters range 0.0 to 1.0
- Expert Sleepers Voice Controller : Pitch (0.0 to 127.0), Gate (0.0 to 1.0), Pitch Bend (0.0 to 12.0), Detune (-100.0 to 100.0)
- Expert Sleepers DC : Positive L (0.0 to 1.0), Symmetric L (-1.0 to 1.0), Positive R (0.0 to 1.0), Symmetric R (-1.0 to 1.0)
Some Important Tips:
- The Volta manual recommends:
"To connect your audio interface outputs to your analog hardware's CV inputs, the proper cables are important. You should use quarter-inch TRS cables to TS cables, with the ring 'floating' or not connected."
Please do not forget this, as I did for a day or two -- though I didn't do any damage, better safe than sorry.
- There is a very useful Volta forum over at http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/
- There is an extremely useful troubleshooting diagram for Volta here:
http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5964
- Silent Way Voice Controller doesn't really do anything pitch-wise until you calibrate it. Sometimes I get in a hurry and forget to do that and end up scratching my head a bit.
- Sometimes I find my audio interface (in this case, a MOTU Traveler) will not generate CV values at all. In that case, if I quit Numerology, turn off the Traveler, wait 5 seconds, turn it on again, wait for it to finish booting, then restart Numerology, it will work.
LFO & Dual LFO
Now allow you to enter decimal values for frequency/period in the number box up to two digits of precision.
Audio Recording
The names of recordings of both the Main and Alt mix busses now include the project name, for example: myproject-main-1.aiff
Preset Key Assign:
Fixed a problem that would occur if you assigned the same keyboard event to the same preset. The behavior now is that the previous assignment is removed.
Fixes & Updates:
- Fixed a bug in with the note labels of the ChordSeq, they were displaying octave values incorrectly.
- When external sync is turned on, Numerology's transport loop is disabled and its controls are now hidden.
- The "Keep AU Presets Static" option has been removed (until it can be implemented)
- The NoteGen module now properly generates MIDI Note Num 0, a.ka. C-2.
- Fixed some memory managment errors that could cause crashes on shutdown.
