View Full Version : MonoNoteAU Update : Preset Playlists
Here's a quick sneak-peek of the new playlist function for the "pattern presets" in the MonoNote AU. The big number in the left part of the playlist column is the number of bars to play the preset for. The icons indicate whether to play through, begin loop or end loop, and the little number is the number of times to play the loop. I expect there will be numerous tweaks to this, but the code is already working and the UI setup seems to be easy to live with.
I'm working on various other features and plan to have a new private beta this week, followed by the first public beta late next week.
Cheers,
Jim

Wow, that is awesome! Another mini-sequencer! :-) It looks like a great sequencing tool in the tradition of the Roland X0X step sequencers' "track play" mode where you can chain patterns from the step sequencer part together. Exactly the right complement for the awesome step sequencer that MonoNote already is!
Maybe add such an neat little arrow icon on the playlist header itself too, to indicate whether the playlist as a whole should be looped, or a one shot sequence?
And it's pretty, too! <superficial nitpicking starts here :P> I just think (on initial impression) that the small caps in the heading look a little weird, and that the buttons would be prettier with their text centered ('dup' and 'snap' look a bit off to, aligned to the left as they currently are).

A "loop at end" option is a significant possibility, but I want to make sure the current algorithm is solid before pursuing that . The UI will be tweaked again before release.

Are pattern presets going to be available in the standalone version as well Jim?

Have you a release date for the monoNote AU please?
Have you a release date for the monoNote AU please?
A really good question ! :D
There's no set date. I have one preference to implement, some testing and bugs to look into, and then I'll release it to the private beta group for a round of testing. If that goes well I'll put out a public beta after that. My goal is to not make the build public it until it is robust and fully functional.

i think thats better like this - otherwise you will get so many complaints about bugs - so we wait and play meanwhile with the Nl2.3b :)
