hi all

i have the virus ti with the latest os . i test the virus with the software five12 numerology 2, but i have problem with virus vst au plugin . the software numerology 2 in the lfo modulation Destinations only show, filter cutoff 1 end the Soft Knob 1-2-3 .all the other Destinations is not supported .is the problem of whe virus ti os ???
or is the problem of the numerology 2 software???

(hmm... why do I have the feeling I'm talking to a machine here? ;) )

I also have a Virus, the TI2 Polar model, running latest OS (3.3.0.00 beta).

While Jim could possibly fix some things on the N2 end if he'd just have access to a Virus TI for testing (do you by freak chance happen to live close to him, maybe?), I bet there's a lot wrong on the Virus TI end. It's been giving me nothing but trouble in *every* possible setup I have tried (and those are many... <sigh>). For now I'm just using it with N2 via MIDI, not as a plugin. The Virus TI hardly exposes any interesting AU parameters for automation anyway, imho, so it isn't really useful as a plugin (once you're done with patch design). To be precise: for each part (1 to 16), it exposes:

Filter 1 cutoff;
Filter 1 resonance;
Osc volume + saturation;
Soft knob 1;
Soft knob 2;
Soft knob 3.

All other parameters can *by design* only be controlled via MIDI, not as (VST or) AU parameters (thus, it's not a bug). So I guess that answers your question, mostly?

To take it one step further: for automating the Virus TI's so-called 'page B' parameters, we need to be able to send either SysEx or *polyphonic* pressure ('aftertouch'). Both have already been requested on this forum, and iirc are on Jim's to-do list for some future Numerology version. (Right, Jim?)

virus ti is very good synth , i think is numerologys 2 problem because ,i have logic studio 9 end is fully parameter -automating controlled via VST AU.

Oh, you're right! In Logic, they *are* exposed... :o

However, I maintain that it is an Access problem, mostly at least. In Ableton Live, for example (which *is* mentioned as a "supported host" by Access), it also doesn't show any other parameters than the ones I mention above. And the same goed for Reaper.

Access should imho just publish (better) documentation for host developers. But I don't have much hope for that...

I stand corrected, gladly. Cool! :D Seems you fixed your own problem and helped me a bit on the way. :-) Thanks!

It still remains problematic to be used as a plugin, though. It's not without reason that the templates Access provides all use a one measure count-in before they start playing anything on the Virus; getting it to keep a stable sync and start/stop without clicks and pops is still quite problematic in my experience so far. If I use it in plugin mode at all, I most often set it to 'live' mode.

is working for ableton 8 WITH Right CLICK ADD parameter TO AUTOMATION, in numerology 2 not working with the same trick for my system ..
they not update the destinations, shows only the
* Filter 1 cutoff;
* Filter 1 resonance;
* Osc volume + saturation;

* Soft knob 3.

is like a bug ?? but i dont now

It is probably just something odd about the way the virus AU exposes param info. Email me offline and I'll send you a test build that will help determine what the issue is.
