Adding Launchpad support pushes this build cycle from a "2.2.1" version range to the "2.3" version range. Also, in case you were wondering, 2.3b1 was a private test release.

URL: http://www.five12.com/Numerology-2.3b1.dmg

Other than Launchpad support, there are many important fixes, so be sure to review the release notes. More fixes and launchpad tweaks coming next week.

I'm finishing up some tutorial videos now, will post links when they are ready.

Cheers,
Jim

Numerology 2.3b2 Release Notes:

Launchpad Control:

New in this version is control support for the Novation Launchpad. This allows you to program and control all the "Note Sequencer" modules in Numerology from the Launchpad, which includes the MonoNote, PolyNote, Chord Seq, Drum Seq, Matrix Seq and Matrix Arpeggiator. In addition, there is a dedicated mode for triggering presets and for accessing the most important settings of the Mixer.

Some Notes:
- Preliminary doc & "Sticker" templates are in the "Goodies" folder with this install.
- The labels are designed for Avery brand "8253" 2" x 4" labels (10 labels per sheet). These labels print nicely, but they tend to not want to peel off cleanly, so don't get upset if you end up with "sticky goo" on your controller.

Fixes & Updates:

- Fixed a bug whereby the "CV" port on the Stack Input module would only connect to a single destination at a time.

- ReWire : fixed a communication issue related to opening large projects

- MonoNote : Fixed an error in MIDI Note Off generation related to running in legato mode.

- CCGen/NRPN Gen: In the CCGen module, fixed some inconsistent behavior: On transport start, both 'voices' now properly send an initial-value CC message. An when no CV connection is made on the input, no CC values are generated at all. The same fixes have been applied to the NrpnGen module.

- CCGen/NRPN Gen: I've turned off auto-routing for the CcGen and NrpnGen module CV inputs when they are added to a new stack, the behavior is not consistent enough to do the right thing more than 1/2 the time.

- NoteProcessor: Fixed a conflict between velocity offset and velocity randomize that could cause missing notes.

- LFO/DualLFO : Fixed a random number uniqueness issue with the S&H waveform.

- IntervalSeq : Fixed a problem with stripe bg colors when adding this module to the top of a stack.

- DrumSeq : Fixed a problem with the "clear" buttons for step skips and step mutes.

- MIDI Learn : Changes to a project made via hardware MIDI controllers now properly set the project as "edited".

- Number Boxes: Tweaked the handling of "-" keys to make it easier to enter negative numbers.

Yes, that will be in N3 Pro. Other modules will be included as well, where it makes sense to do so (FaderBox, NoteGen, LFO, etc.).

The vimeo version of the tutorial is up now. Not surprisingly, it is a much cleaner encode than the YouTube version (*sigh*).

I'll post the full-rez version at five12.com tomorrow...

this is awesome... I tried numerology before, but didn't love the interface. With this launchpad support, I'm definitely going to be buying a copy. Are there plans to support 2 launchpads side-by-side (16x8 matrix)?

Yes, in N3 Pro. In fact, I expect that would be an ideal combination for working with Live -- Have 1 launchpad dedicated to Numerology, with the other switchable between Live and Numerology via the "User 2" button -- hopefully...

Wow. LP support is amazing. Playing with mononote + Zebra atm...

I guess it makes a huge difference when the dev makes support for a device from scratch like this, makes things go much more smoothly!

This is actually an installation bug, the new rewire driver is being put in the wrong spot. Here is a workaround:

- Browse to /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire
- Delete the NumerologyReWireDevice.plugin file in that directory.
- Look in the "Contents" directory and copy that version of NumerologyReWireDevice.plugin into the parent directory (/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire).

The easiest way to disable ReWire support for Numerology is to move the rewire driver out of the directory listed above. You should shut down all ReWire hosts before doing that.

it works now in rewire mode! great! thanks a million times!!!

i have now just what i always wanted - numerology was always the best sequencer for me but hard to use for live - now with the wonderful Lp remote
it's close to perfect and together with Live and my modularsynths it's a dream setup for me.

finally got my launchpad back from my friend, and really loving the new launchpad setup! This is really great, it integrates very well with the GUI, and helps me to explore a lot of the functions that i Never used much in my normal sequences but are really great for doing live work. Really really great, made my day... my whole week even! How am I ever going to leave the house now.... thanks jim!

this is just a funny sequence where I play around with the drum sequencer and all the freaky things you can do to a sequence from the launchpad :)

So I watched the vimeo video... and then proceeded like a zombie to my nearest retailer and picked up a launchpad... continued to be entranced by the moving grids for hours. I really didn't want to pick up a launchpad as I have an APC-40... but I had no choice. Thanks a lot. :D Amazing work, can't wait to see how this evolves... you are the man Jim!

It seems like everytime I start to use the ChordSeq module (especially when other modules are running) Numerology freezes. The audio continues to play, my launchpad can make changes, but nothing on the screen moves anymore and I can't save anything or stop it...

I am on a Macbook with Snow Leapord (10.6.1).

Thanks for any insight...

First, make sure you have the latest version installed, which is this one:

http://www.five12.com/Numerology-2.3b5.dmg

Next, in Numerology's prefs, set logging to high.

Then, the next time this happens, email me this file:
<your home dir>/Library/Logs/NumerologyLog.txt

I'll run some tests on my end to look for problems, but the logs will definitely help.
