recently I always get none midi/audio input/output on numerology launch.
sometimes I unplug all usb device(including cellphone etc) then restart numerology fixes the problem, sometimes I have to reboot the computer to get all the input/output back.
I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.3/Numerology 3.2 pro build 61.
Is there a "soft" way like "refresh" the input/output port?
Thanks!

I often use Numerology with Ableton Live(what an awesome combo:)). Either as a plugin or more often than not Rewired. I've started to notice that the MIDI clock (tempo) "hangs up" every so often then snaps back into time(It slows down and stretches, them catches up, totally trippy sounding). I'm mostly sequencing external hardware over MIDI thru an Emagic Unitor MKII(USB to MIDI). What could be causing this? CPU load? It's definitely puzzling cause it only happens when I'm using Numerology with Ableton(never when using them independently). Could it be too much for the USB on the Unitor to handle?

Any thoughts on this are appreciated. This is a total killer for using this set up for a "live" show.:(

Thanks in advance for any replys

Here's the UI I'm working on.... You turn auto-assignment on/off in the Stack Detail dialog, and when on, it re-numbers all the settings for each preset in the stack. Anytime you add/move/delete a preset, they are all renumbered. If you need custom behavior, you can always turn the auto option on to setup your initial values, then turn it off and tweak things manually.

Should be out in a few days w/ the next 3.2 build...

Hey y'all !

I think Jim is the most likely to answer, but if anyone can chime in and help, that would be great !

I'm using N3 as a MIDI remote for Live 8. I sync both with Rewire, Live being the master.
So N3 sends out MIDI datas to AUs hosted in Live. So there's a latency.

I was wondering if this latency is fixed/related to the session operating bit rate/sample rate or if it depends on the master tempo or if it simply is voodoo ?

I just jammed with N3 in stand alone and I love the DrumSeq/DrumKit combo, so I'd love to send MIDI datas from N3 (as I already do) and at the same time send a few audio (drum) tracks from N3 to Live.

So I need to know the exact latency so that everything is in sync and wondered if there's a simple way to calculate the latency to properly set the "Track Delay" in Live.

Thanks !

A few weeks ago I had the honor of seeing Raymond Scott's Electronium as it undergoes restoration, and I thought should share a picture from that visit. I'm in the photo below on the right. On the left is Darren Davison who has undertaken this monumental task. There's a short video on the restoration here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otc6yRRK5WA

As for Raymond Scott -- well, if you are interested at all in the history of electronic music at all, you should definitely see Scott Warnow's doc: http://scottdoc.com -- it is quite mind-blowing. As for figuring out how the Electronium worked by examining the machine-- not very easy. Though there are many tantalizing clues, it remains quite an enigma.

Cheers,

I've run into a puzzle regarding disabling note entry into the DrumSeq and MonoNote while using the Launchpad. I understand that Realtime Recording is automatically enabled when navigating to the play page via the Launchpad. There are times when I want to audition without committing changes so I thought to simply click the flashing record button assuming that this would disable recording. This however is not the case. Realtime recording of launchpad entries continue with the recording control disabled. What say you oh wise numerologists?

when transferring projects from Numerology to Logic (something I wish was seriously easier to do but would take total cooperation with Apple.. heh  ), I will load the presets that are saved in the Numerology song's media folder. Problem is if I reuse a plugin often (such as Diva), I don't know what preset belongs to which recorded MIDI part until I load it..

Could we get an option that in the generated file name, it also says the stack that it lives in? Also the name for the plugin would be helpful in case there are duplicate plugins in a stack, so we know which instance belongs to which in the signal flow.

I only have SE so this might exist in pro, but I have a korg MS2000, and apparently it has a known bug in the firmware which makes the arpeggiator and motion sequencer run a bit late. It's constantly behind by like 30-40 ms. If I'm working with only plugins and the ms2000, it not an issue as I slap a sample delay on the plugs and it's all groovy, but when I'm using other hardware there's not a native way to delay them all by a bit... For now midipipe does the trick, but that makes me grumpy. :)
next time I'm in NM I'll buy you a beer Jim. :D
